4th International Gottlob Frege Conference

Gottlob Frege (* November 8, 1848; † July 26, 1925) is one of the most influential thinkers of the 19th and 20th centuries. With his work on logic, he created the theoretical foundations for the development of modern digital technology. The 4th International Gottlob Frege Conference will take place from September 15 to 20, 2025 in Wismar, the city of his birth, to mark the 100th anniversary of the death of this important logician, mathematician and philosopher. The five-day supporting program of this scientific conference will be accompanied by cultural events about Frege and his homeland.
The central theme is the examination of Frege's work and its effects up to the present day:
- Frege's concept of logic compared to other approaches
- Frege's concept of mathematics and its further developments
- Frege's impact on modern computer science and technology
- Frege's linguistic analyses and analytical philosophy
- Frege's polemics and the culture of scientific debates
Conference languages are English and German.
The event is organized by the Gottlob-Frege-Zentrum Wismar.
