Conditions to be eligible for funding

For funding from the publication fund, the applicant must be a doctoral candidate in a budget position or a doctoral scholarship holder and first author, whereby a maximum of ONE application per person can be submitted per year. Reimbursement for Gold Open Access journals can be requested if the journal is included in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) (see Quality assessment Resources). In order to fund a publication in a closed access journal from the publishers Wiley, Springer Nature and Elsevier you have to check the Open Access option during the application process with the publisher.

Application process for funding

In order to approve funding a formless application via e-mail containing the following information is necessary:

  1. Name of the journal and, if applicable, further bibliographic information regarding the publication
  2. Invoice amount or cost estimate
  3. Reason why other funding sources aren’t viable options
  4. Home address
  5. Bank information: name of bank, IBAN, BIC
  6. Confirmation of supervision at the Wismar University of Applied Sciences as an attachment
  7. Submit a requirement request to the faculty administration and enter the account assignment sent on it
