At the beginning of September 2020, a test shell from VEB Spezialbetonbau Rügen was brought to the Müther Archive of the Wismar University of Applied Sciences. The paraglider-like object made of glass fibre reinforced plastic (GRP) was discovered by chance during construction work in Prora on the island of Rügen. The spa administration of the municipality of Binz then informed the archive belonging to the University of Applied Sciences Wismar about the find. The scale model of a shell roof for the Rostock Trade Fair and Congress Hall remained a design by engineer Ulrich Müther. At the time of its creation, it would have been the largest shell structure in Germany with the planned size of 93 metres by 103 metres, according to the Müther Archive.
