"SMART Hotel" - intelligent solutions in the hotel industry, data protection and IT security, "Digital House" - digital fabrication in timber construction, "Garden der Metropolen" - network of SMEs

The Mittelstand 4.0-Kompetenzzentrum Rostock was founded in October 2017 as part of the Mittelstand Digital initiative funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action. Experts accompany small and medium-sized companies from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in their transition from an analogue to a digital everyday work processes. The Mittelstand 4.0-Kompetenzzentrum Rostock is aids to SMEs in the medical technology, healthcare, health tourism and general tourism sectors and offers support for all questions relating to the digitization of business processes.

The team at the Wismar University of Applied Sciences (subcontracted by the Stralsund University of Applied Sciences) focuses on the following three topics:

"SMART Hotel and IT Security" - Intelligent solutions in the hotel industry, topics: smart management, building and mobility concepts, PR, data protection and IT security in hotel operations,
"Digital House" - Digital design and fabrication in timber construction for SMEs, demonstration object as a digital, individual object to present the possibilities of digital planning and production,
"Garten der Metropolen" - platform for the digital networking of tourism offers in rural areas.
