The aim of the HKF roof insulation project is to develop a practical, innovative and high-quality roof insulation based on hemp short fibres for insertion with blower machines over the entire service life.
The project objectives can be summarized as follows:
- Development of blow-in insulation based on hemp short fibres and provision of the computational and experimental evidence related to the structural, mechanical and acoustic properties as well as the settlement safety.
- Technical further development of a plant for the mechanical shortening of medium-length fibre fractions by modifying a straw chopping machine.
- Construction of a blower machine specially adapted to short fibres.
