Funding Advice

Members of Wismar University of Applied Sciences can get advice on all phases of research and innovation projects, from the research idea to its exploitation. In particular, you will find information on support options for applying for funding.

State and Federal Funding / Technology transfer

You have an idea for an research project, but need support to find the appropriate funding or a partner from the industry? For this tasks you will get support from the Technology and Innovation Consultant of the University of Applied Sciences in Wismar.

Besides the tasks as a Technologie- und Innovationsberater, also the University-Internal Research Funding belongs to the remit of Mr Wölk.

By 1 September (deadline 1 October) of each year, professors at Wismar University of Applied Sciences and the doctoral candidates and academic staff they supervise can submit funding applications as part of the university's internal research funding. This funding is aimed in particular at initiating further projects. The Technology and Innovation Consultant at Wismar University of Applied Sciences will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the internal university research funding.

EU Funding

Advice on funding instruments for European education and research cooperation as well as information on current international funding announcements can be obtained from our Robert Schmidt Institute. The university's European Funding Advisor supports our scientists in the strategic planning, preparation and submission of funding applications in accordance with EU guidelines. You will receive advice on all phases of third-party funding acquisition:

  • Selection of suitable funding programmes
  • Conception and preparation of application documents
  • Arranging contacts
  • Setting up international consortia
  • Communication with funding bodies and national contact points

Forschungs GmbH

On behalf of Wismar University of Applied Sciences, its subsidiary Forschungs-GmbH Wismar (FGW) provides advice on all aspects of funding, with a focus on state and federal funding. You can receive support in researching relevant funding programs, preparing documents for applications, and also in questions about guidelines, manuals, program documents, and tender texts. You will also receive practical help with project structuring and deadline management in the application phase. In addition, you will receive support with budgeting, especially the calculation of personnel costs, as well as clarification of formal legal questions regarding contracts in coordination with the university's legal department.
