Julia is a beautiful and relatively new open-source programming language that attempts to solve the two-language problem by combining the simplicity and expressiveness of high-level languages like Python or R with the speed of low-level languages like C or Fortran. This is particularly useful in the fields of data science and scientific computing.
The course provides an introduction to the core principles of using Julia for data science and scientific computing. Previous knowledge in another programming language such as R or Python is highly recommended.
Enrollment in HIS/LSF is mandatory (ID 10211291). Course slides will be in English. Lectures will be given in either English or German, depending on the wishes of the groups.
