From 13th to 17th March 2023, the international workshop "New life for dormant buildings and spaces. Archicycling as a means to carbon neutral development of municipalities in international and interdisciplinary context." will take place in the foyer, house 7a, at the Faculty of Architecture and Design. The aim is to develop implementable solutions and explore multidisciplinary ways to improve resource use and reduce resource waste in the built environment. The focus is on the role of upcycling as a unifying concept for such repurposing in rural and urban environments. Perspectives from different disciplines are included and interlinked such as natural and civil engineering, design principles, public policy, professional culture and from a marketing and communication perspective.
Lecturers and students from Hochschule Wismar, University of Applied Sciences, the University of Hartford (United States), the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (Slovakia), the University of Poitiers Châtellerault (France) and the Alcoy Campus - Escuela Politécnica Superior Alcoy of the Universitat Politècnica de València (Spain) are involved.
On the part of the Faculty of Architectur and Design at Hochschule Wismar, University of Applied Sciences, the workshop is accompanied by the architecture course.
